Construction Manager Selection

Tibbals Learning Center, Phase II, FS-299A

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The project consists of construction of approximately 20,000 gsf of new space for document storage, support and display/exhibition. The site is located on the Ringling Campus in Sarasota west of the Tibbals Learning Center (Phase I). The new facility will connect directly to and be fully integrated with Phase I. The site is west of and adjacent to Phase I and in between the historic road to the south, and the north boundary of the Ringling property.

All work and construction quality is expected to conform with University guidelines and be compatible with adjacent buildings on campus. The completed project will seek LEED certification. Therefore, the selected Construction Manager will be expected to be familiar with LEED concepts and components.

PROJECT BUDGET
The project budget is $8,000,000 of which the construction budget is approximately $6,165,000.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection of finalists for interviews will be made on the basis of construction manager qualifications, including experience and ability; past experience; bonding capacity; record-keeping/administrative ability, critical path scheduling expertise; cost estimating; cost control ability; quality control capability; and qualifications of the firm's personnel, staff and consultants. Finalists will be provided with a copy of the building program and the latest documentation prepared by the project architect/engineer, a description of the final interview requirements and a copy of the standard Florida State University's construction management agreement.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • All applicants will be notified of the results of the short listing via the FSU Office of Facilities Design & Construction website: www.fpc.fsu.edu. Interview times for finalists will be posted at this website address, as well.

  • The Selection Committee will make a recommendation to the University President. Final ranking of firms will be posted on the Facilities Design & Construction web site. Upon approval by the President, negotiations will be conducted in accordance with Section 287.055, Florida Statutes.
