College of Education Multi-Purpose Teaching Facility
Florida State University, FS-211
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project consists of design and construction of approximately 47,000 gross square feet of indoor tennis courts and support space. The selected architect will provide design, construction documents and construction administration.
The new construction will be built at the University's southwest campus, adjacent to the newly constructed Morcom Aquatics Center. It is anticipated that site amenities, such as parking and entry drives, may be shared. However, the design professional will be required to provide site design and analysis in order to optimize use of the current site and plan for interaction with future construction on a proximate site.
Exterior building design is expected to be consistent with University guidelines and compatible with other FSU facilities in the vicinity.
Interior components to be designed will include: court lighting, playing surfaces, and indoor environmental systems. The design professional shall be responsible for providing all architectural and engineering services required for this project. Any additional consulting services will be considered on an individual basis.
The completed project will seek LEED certification. Therefore, the selected design professional will be expected to be familiar with design utilizing LEED concepts and components.
The project delivery system will be construction management.
PROJECT BUDGET
The project budget is $5,000,000, of which the construction budget is approximately $4,500,000.
